U.S. negotiators met with Russian officials in Florida on Saturday for the latest talks aimed at ending the conflict, as the Trump administration tries to win a deal from both sides.

The Miami meeting followed U.S. talks Friday with Ukrainian and European officials, the latest discussions of a peace plan that raised some hope for a solution to the conflict that began when Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022.

The Downing Street report also said Starmer and Trump discussed appointing Christian Turner as ambassador to the US after his predecessor Peter Mandelson was sacked when supportive emails he sent to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came to light.
