What is the prize for the 2025 Mega da Virada?
This year’s edition promises to pay a prize of R$850 million. With changes to the rules for the main prize, however, this R$ 1 billion, depending on the collection.
As usual in special contests, the main prize of Mega da Virada does not accumulate. Therefore, if there are no winners in the 1st range of 6 numbers, the prize will be divided between the winners in the 2nd range of 5 numbers and so on, according to the rules of the sport.
The biggest prize so far was paid in the 2024 edition, when eight bets divided more than R$635 million.
When will the New Year’s Mega draw be held?
The Mega da Virada draw number 2955 takes place on December 31st, at 10pm.
The result can be followed through live broadcast on the YouTube channel or Caixa’s official profile.
Players can also check the dozens drawn on the Loterias Caixa website. Furthermore, the page allows the final value of the prize and the final distribution between bettors to be checked after the result.
How to bet on Mega da Virada?
To bet on Mega da Virada, simply go to any lottery outlet in the country or make a purchase through the Loterias Caixa website and app.
For Caixa customers, it is also possible to place bets on the draw via Internet Banking, the bank’s digital platform.
The bettor can choose from six to 20 numbers on the wheel, consisting of 60 in total. The value of a simple bet, with 6 numbers, is R$6.
The rules for playing Mega da Virada are the same as those for regular Mega-Sena contests. The difference is that the draw on the last day of the year does not accumulate.
There are different ways to participate in the game, including:

Pools are a possibility for those who don’t want to spend so much on betting at Mega da Virada. The modality is very common within companies, among family or groups of friends.
Caixa offers the “Caixa jackpot” at lottery outlets. In this modality, the group can buy a set of shares and divide it among the participants.
The prize pools have a minimum value of R$18, with each share starting at R$7.
Each pool must have at least 2 odds and a maximum of 100. It is possible to place 10 bets per pool, all with the same number of numbers.
Players can also purchase shares in pools organized by lotteries. Just ask the attendant for the number of odds you want and keep the receipt to check the bet on the day of the draw. In this case, an additional fee of up to 35% of the quota value is charged.

How to redeem the Mega da Virada prize?
Mega da Virada winners must immediately go to a Caixa Econômica Federal branch or accredited lottery outlet.
It is necessary to carry the winning ticket or proof of the bet, along with a personal document with photo and CPF.
If the gross premium value exceeds R$2,428.20, payment can only be made at Caixa branches.
Amounts equal to or greater than R$10,000 are paid within a minimum period of two business days from presentation at the CAIXA Branch.
The deadline for claiming the prize is 90 days after the draw date. After this period, the amounts are transferred to the Higher Education Student Financing Fund (Fies).
