“No more lies.” Deputy Eurico Brilhante Dias sits at a desk for 12 minutes reading all these statements refuted in fact check. “The lying needs to stop.”
“False, false, fake, misleading, manipulated, inaccurate.” The socialist parliamentary leader sent this Monday to the president of Chega a dossier with “more than 100 verified lies, inaccuracies and manipulations” which accuses André Ventura and other party deputies of having broadcast it. And it’s all available on social media.
“I hereby bring to your attention the dossiers presented in the plenary during the debate on the 2026 State Budget in general, with the result of the fact check to your statements made publicly, since 2020 until now”, can be read in a letter sent by Eurico Brilhante Diasto which the Lusa agency had access.
One on YouTube shows the socialist deputy sitting at a desk to report all these “lies, inaccuracies and manipulations”.
“There is no greater corrupt than the one who uses lies to do politics”, in X the PS parliamentary group.
According to the PS parliamentary leader, after a “non-exhaustive analysis” it was concluded that “there are more than 100 lies, inaccuracies and manipulations verified and conveyed”, especially by André Ventura and other party deputies.
“I consider that this way of doing politics is not acceptable, relying on lies and disinformation to spread ideas and proposals that are often extremist, xenophobic and incite hatred“, he criticized.
The PS, according to Eurico Brilhante Dias, will continue “to present proposals that it considers to be the best for the lives of the Portuguese” and will promote “values such as freedom, equality and progress”.
“It is necessary to stop the lie for the sake of improving the living conditions of the Portuguese and the health of democracy,” he said.
