To prepare herring with cranberries you need:
- 1 kg of herrings à la matjas
- 2 small red onions
- 100 g of dried cranberries
- 3-4 cloves
- 2 grains of allspice
- 2 bay leaves
- Oil

Preparation method:
Start with cold water, which should be changed regularly. Soak from 2 to even 8 hours, depending on how salty you want it. Pour boiling water over the cranberries for about 15 minutes to allow them to swell properly. Cut the onion into slices.
