Christmas Eve carp began to appear on the Christmas table only in the Polish People’s Republic. Previously, other fish took the lead, including: pike. It was this genre that reigned supreme on the tables of the nobility and wealthy bourgeoisie.
In the past, it indicated the status of the family, but today almost no one uses it anymore. This is a mistake because there is a pike . It also has clean, white meat without a muddy taste and fewer bones than carp.
Pike is for people on a diet because it is filling, low in fat and light caloric value – only 96 kcal in 100 g. It is also distinguished by a high content of easily digestible protein, phosphorus, potassium and B vitamins.
Its great advantage is also its specific structure. It has few small bones and more large ones that are easy to notice and remove. This makes eating it simply easier.
What is the benefit of eating pike? It is worth eating it not only on holidays, because it supports weight loss and can be a good complement to an easily digestible diet. It does not burden the digestive system.
However, it strengthens muscles, bones and teeth, and has a positive effect on the nervous system. Pike also supports the proper functioning of the heart and may have a beneficial effect on the body’s immunity.
