At the age of 55 acclaimed American video game developer Vince Zampella died in a car accident. TASR informs about this according to Monday’s report by AFP and The Guardian. Zampella co-created a series of video games Call of Dutyin his various studios, he participated in several popular game series from Medal of Honor to Titanfall. The head of the video game development company Respawn Entertainment and the co-founder of the Infinity Ward studio died in a car accident in California, NBC Los Angeles reported.
Zampella according to media reports died in a crash on the Angeles Crest Highway that was reported to the California Highway Patrol at 12:45 a.m. local time on Sunday. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene and the passenger later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Only one vehicle was allegedly involved in the accident.
Zampella began his career in video games in the mid-1990s. He was most recently promoted to lead the military-themed Battlefield video game series at EA Games – Battlefield 6 was released in October and earned critical acclaim. Previously, in 2010, he founded Respawn Entertainment within EA, which created the popular series of robot shooters Titanfall and the popular multiplayer game Apex Legends, the Guardian writes.
