If we want to feel the Christmas magic in our home, we decorate it with various items that add charm during this special period. One of the most impressive and atmospheric decorations is a Christmas wreath. However, it is often quite expensive. However, we can save and prepare it ourselves.
A Christmas wreath is a holiday decoration that appears in more and more homes. It is not only impressive and beautiful, but also has symbolic meaning relating to the Christian faith. The round shape of the wreath is intended to signify eternal life. Often, when it is placed on a table, it is also found with four candles attached to it, which are supposed to symbolize Advent.
Typically a traditional Christmas wreath consists of coniferous tree branches, which are decorated with e.g. bows, pine cones, baubles or other elements associated with Christmas. We can not only place the wreath on the table, but it can also be attached to the wall or the entrance door.

We won’t need a lot of items to make a wreath. If we want to create it ourselves, we must equip ourselves with:
- spruce and pine twigs – we can also use a ready-made circle-shaped frame made of twigs,
- different sizes of cones,
- red ribbon,
- sector,
- floristic wire,
- wire cutter,
- any decorations (e.g. artificial spray snow, holly branches, glitter, small baubles).
The first step, if you haven’t bought a ready-made frame in a flower shop, is: weaving our wreath quite tightly, using spruce twigs. Then we attach short pine branches to the wreath, pointing them in one direction.
Then we decorate the wreath, by attaching cones of various sizes to it using floral wire. We will also use it to attach a large bow to the wreath, which we make with our red ribbon.
When choosing it in a store, make sure it is made of good material. We can bet, among others: for a thick fabric with a velvet finish, which is associated with the holidays. Finally, we can add the remaining decorations of our choicey, and if we prefer a minimalist decoration, we leave the wreath as it is. If we want to hang it on or wall, we need to make a wire hook that will be located at the back of the wreath.
