Comedian František Košarišťan alias Fero Joke bitterly regretted his behavior after the talk show in Prague. Two men After her, Jakub and Matúš talked about sexual harassment and pointed the finger at the seasoned comedian. Shortly after the publication of the video, which went viral on the Internet, he reacted and admitted that he had made a mistake.
Fero is a big critic of himself and wants to use the situation for growth and improvement. “I didn’t pay attention to alcohol that evening. After people left the establishment, I drank more than was healthy among my friends and that affected my assessment of the situation,” he wrote on Instagram.
He added that it is a great lesson for him. “I am responsible for the atmosphere I create around me and I care a lot that people around me feel safe. Any touch, even a fleeting one, is a problem without consent. If I crossed that line even for a moment, I take it seriously. I know that if we want to blame others for similar mistakes, we should have a much stricter measure for ourselves,” he explained.
He got in touch with Matúša and Jakub, apologized and told them how sorry he was about the situation. “I appreciate that they spoke up, because in today’s world, no one who feels harmed should remain silent. I will do everything to ensure that something like this does not happen again. My need to relax and switch off for a while must not be superior to trying to create a safe environment around me,” he concluded.
The case has resonated in Slovakia for several weeks. Most recently, a former superstar and music dramaturg commented on her Jakub Petranik. “You may be stoning me now, but he won’t give it to me. The absurdity of society demonizing Fer Joke and putting his mistake on a par with child abuse or comparing it to violence against women is a mistake in my opinion,he emphasized.
“I’m also not going to put my hand in the fire that I haven’t grabbed someone’s ass in the past, either drunk or thinking it was funny. I guess so. My opinion is that, in addition to his inappropriate behavior towards two guys in public, Fero paid for too much social correctness,” Petraník thinks.
He appreciates that the comedian apologized to the young man for his behavior. “I firmly believe in one thing, don’t I if society was able to forgive politicians for the “Clean Day” case or other convictions for racism or Holocaust denial, sooner or later they will also forgive Fer for his inappropriate behavior. It is also appropriate to mention his apology, because it is not a matter of course or a habit for much more serious actions. Just that much,” he added at the end of the post.
