The painter Gerhard Richter (93) donates works to the homeless shortly before Christmas. He is providing five autographed prints based on his famous oil painting The candle from 1982, said Dirk Kästel, spokesman for the homeless aid association “Art Helps Giving” to the German Press Agency in Cologne. The pictures will be auctioned for a good cause. In 2023, a slightly smaller candle print by Richter achieved 99,000 euros.
