Will Jair play for Flamengo?
According to journalist João Pedro Fragoso, from O Globo, the red-black board has not yet formalized a proposal, but is evaluating the scenario. Internally, the possibility of moving forward depends on the format of the deal and the English club’s openness to negotiating.
The journalist also reported that, if the conversations evolve, the tendency is for Flamengo to present a loan offer, with an option to purchase at the end of the contract, considered more viable at this time.
Flamengo plans to renew its squad
According to O Globo, the search for Jair Cunha is part of a broader plan by Flamengo’s football department. The idea is to strengthen the defensive sector, made up of Léo Ortiz, Léo Pereira and Danilo.
In addition to the technical needs, the board is also working with the objective of rejuvenating the squad, with the arrival of an athlete with room for evolution, who fits the desired profile for 2026.
In addition to Jair, the Rio club would also be negotiating for Vitão, from Internacional.
