In an advertisement released on prime time television, the management (Republicans) claims to have taken the paper off the ground, ended it and sent thousands of students from the state network to study abroad, in actions contested by opponents.
The piece, which seeks to place the government as responsible for achieving what it calls “impossible”, is seen as detached from reality by opponents of the government. They question, for example, sending thousands of students to study for three months in English-speaking countries.
“Is studying abroad a distant dream? For thousands of students from the state network it is reality”, says the excerpt from the advertisement.
To date, however, management has announced a list of a maximum of 500 students who will study for three months in countries such as Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom. The promise is to take at least a thousand students per year, but only from 2026.
In the video, the government is even more emphatic in saying that, after 30 years, it has ended . “It seemed impossible, but after 30 years, Cracolândia no longer exists.”
Since May, when Rua dos Protestantes, in Santa Ifigênia, which was home to the largest concentration of drug addicts, was empty, users have spread out along different roads in the center and on the outskirts.
The. “When we say it’s because that scenario we had of selling and using open territory, of free territory, doesn’t exist anymore, just go to the center and see”, stated the governor on November 13th.
“There will always be people using drugs on the street, because this is a social problem. But we will take care of them all.”
The advertising piece also promotes the current administration as being responsible for getting the construction of the Santos-Guarujá tunnel off the ground, after “100 years of waiting”. In this case, work should only begin in 2026, and the tunnel is scheduled to open in 2031.
As the Panel has already shown, the Tarcísio and PT governments are fighting a media battle over the authorship of the tunnel. , with both sharing a bill of R$5.14 billion, in addition to R$1.66 billion from the private sector.
Still in the commercial, the management points out that it brought a solution to the Moinho favela and that the families, who lived in the shacks, are today “in dignified and safe places”.
In a note this Monday (22), the Department of Urban Development and Housing says that 787 changes were made, which is equivalent to 90% of the total number of families.
This weekend, during a police operation in the favela, a man was shot and died.
OTHER SIDE
To the Panel, the government states that, in relation to Cracolândia, currently “what is observed in the central region are small transient groups, permanently monitored”. Regarding the tunnel, he mentions the auction in September and the start of works in the first quarter of 2026.
The management also states that the “Prontos Pro Mundo” program provides 1,000 vacancies each year for students approved in the selection process.
In relation to Favela do Moinho, the Urban Development and Housing department states that all families will be resettled and will have permanent homes, and that CDHU (Companhia de Desenvolvimento Habitacional e Urbano) maintains an office on site to “assist those who have not yet moved with the necessary documentation or with the offer of properties”.
In health, another area explored in the commercial, the government says that in 2025 it registered a total of 1.3 million elective surgeries in the SUS network. “The number represents an increase of 85% compared to 2022, when around 700 thousand procedures were carried out”, states the management.
