The majority of Greek citizens want its greater integration, although at the same time they are critical both of the way it operates today and of the influence it has on the world,
More specifically, 53% of respondents answer that they have a negative view of the EU today, while 41% answer that they have a positive one. In terms of political orientation, those who define themselves as politically centrist (center-right, centrist, center-left) have a more positive image than those who position themselves at the political extremes.

Citizens want greater integration and strengthening of the EU
At the same time, regarding the path that the EU should follow, the majority of citizens answer that it should move towards its greater integration and the strengthening of its competences.
In more detail, 62% respond that they are in favor of greater integration, while 34% support the strengthening of the national sovereignty of the member states.

In terms of the qualitative characteristics of the citizens who answered the above question, those belonging to the middle class and upper economic strata are those who support greater integration to a greater degree, while in the lower economic strata the picture is more divided.

“Europe’s influence in the world is declining”
In questions asked by the survey to the citizens, it was realized that a large majority of them consider that Europe’s influence in the world is decreasing, although the conviction remains that EU member countries have more to gain than to lose from their participation in the Union.
