The new Minister of Tourism, Gustavo Feliciano, stated this Tuesday (23) that the portfolio will be the “home” of the president of the Chamber of Deputies, (Republicanos-PB). Feliciano, appointed to the position by Motta, praised the parliamentarian’s leadership and highlighted that his appointment is a reflection of his “discreet, but undeniable, strong leadership.”
“President Hugo, a Paraíba man assuming a Ministry of the Republic is an indisputable reflection of your leadership. The Ministry of Tourism is your home, because Paraíba is grateful for your support”, said Feliciano in his first speech as minister.
Celso Sabino’s successor, , also committed to working towards “more inclusive and accessible” tourism for Brazilians and praised President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, calling him “not just a president, but a historic landmark in the world.”
Gustavo Feliciano is the former Secretary of Tourism of Paraíba and son of federal deputy Damião Feliciano (União-PB). He was nominated for the position by Hugo Motta and the party responsible for commanding the Ministry of Tourism. In addition to Motta and Damião Feliciano, the leader of the Union in the Chamber, Pedro Lucas Fernandes (MA), also participated in the meeting with Lula on December 18, when the new minister was defined.
