A 19-year-old young man was recognized by images and precautionary measures have already been requested; victims were attacked with oars during the robbery in São Vicente
This Tuesday (23), identified one of the suspects involved in coastal São Paulo. The information was confirmed by the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat (SSP-SP). The person under investigation is 19 years old and, although identified, has not yet been arrested.
The crime occurred last Sunday (21), approximately 100 meters from the sand strip. Images circulating on social media recorded the moment when two men on a watercraft approached the victims. According to the SSP, the identification of the suspect was possible thanks to the analysis of these recordings. Precautionary measures against the young man have already been requested from the Court.
Aggressions
According to the report of one of the victims, a 47-year-old woman, the criminals approached, throwing water on the boat and walking in circles to destabilize the kayak. After announcing the robbery and demanding rings, the pair began attacking the victim’s 53-year-old husband.
The woman reported that the robbers used the couple’s own oars, which had fallen into the sea, to hit the man. “They started hitting him on the back, on the back of the head, on the head. I got panicked because I said: if he faints here, he will drown,” said the victim. The man suffered injuries to his leg and head. After delivering the jewelry, the criminals abandoned their oars in the sea and fled.
Investigation
The SSP reported that investigations continue with the aim of capturing those involved and recovering the stolen goods. The ministry also highlighted that policing in the region was reinforced by Military Police teams.
Since December 15th, the São Paulo coast has been under Operation Summer, which mobilized more than 4,000 additional police officers. The security scheme has the support of specialized units, including the Shock, Road, Environmental and Aviation Police Commands and the Fire Department.
