Senator says he will collect signatures to investigate Moraes’ relationship with Master

After the legislative recess, senator Alessandro Vieira (MDB-SE) stated that he will begin collecting signatures to investigate the relationship between minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), with Banco Master. This Monday, Globo columnist Malu Gaspar revealed that Moraes sought out the president of the Central Bank, Gabriel Galípolo, at least four times to exert pressure in favor of the financial institution.

According to the columnist, the minister’s wife, Viviane Barci de Moraes, has a service provision contract with Master through her law firm. The contract provided for the payment of R$3.6 million monthly for three years, starting in 2024.

“After the recess, I will collect signatures to investigate news about a contract between Master bank and Minister Moraes’ family office, worth 129 million reais, outside the law standard, in addition to this news of the minister’s direct action in favor of the bank,” said Vieira on social media.

Liquidation

In November, the bank’s owner, Daniel Vorcaro, was arrested in a Federal Police operation and the Central Bank ordered the bank’s liquidation. The settlement was enacted less than 24 hours after the announcement of the Master purchase transaction by Fictor Holding Financeira.

According to the BC, this regime is adopted when irrecoverable insolvency occurs or when serious violations of the rules that regulate its activity are committed, among other legal hypotheses. At RAET, the institution’s activities are maintained. Since his arrest, Vorcaro’s ties to several authorities and politicians in Brasília have been revealed.

The owner of Banco Master had a list of contacts on his cell phone that included ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the top brass of the National Congress.
