US court rejects allegations against Trump in Epstein case documents

The Justice Department said it has released nearly 30,000 new pages of documents related to financial entrepreneur and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, noting that some include allegations filed with the FBI shortly before the 2020 presidential election.

The United States Department of Justice today classified as “false and sensational” the allegations against President Donald Trump contained in new documents released in connection with the case of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

In a message posted on the social network

“To be clear: these allegations are false and unfounded”, assures the Department of Justice, which reports directly to the President.

According to US authorities, at least 8,000 new documents from the investigation have been made public, including hundreds of videos and audio recordings, as well as surveillance footage from Epstein’s cell, dating back to August 2019, when he was found dead in a New York prison, before being tried.

The Justice Department has provided nearly 11,000 links to additional documents, although some are not accessible, saying it needs more time to release the remaining material to protect the identities of victims potentially exposed in photographs, videos and text messages.

Full disclosure was legally scheduled until December 19th.

The Democratic opposition accuses the Department of Justice of deliberately delaying the process to protect the President.

The Democratic leader in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, classified the situation as an “attempted cover-up” and presented a bill to increase pressure on the Department of Justice, which he accuses of violating the law by failing to meet the deadline.

The release of the files aims to clarify Epstein’s ties to influential figures, including Trump, who appears in images alongside the businessman.

Although he promised during the 2024 campaign to make the documents public, the President later denounced the process as a “farce” promoted by Democrats.

After months of protests, including from sectors of the Republican Party, Trump ended up sanctioning, in November, a law that obliges the Government to disclose all unclassified documents related to the Epstein case that are in its possession.
