Assembly of the National Union of Aeronauts will evaluate the TST proposal next Monday (29); negotiation involves Gol and Azul
Pilots and flight attendants of Brazilian airlines went on strike after rejecting the employer’s proposal to renew the Collective Labor Agreement. The National Union of Aeronauts (SNA) called an extraordinary general assembly for next Monday morning (29), when the category will decide whether or not to approve the suspension of activities.
The state of strike indicates that professionals are mobilized and may suspend services if negotiations do not progress. The decision comes after a vote held between December 21st and 22nd, in which the proposal presented by the companies, mediated by the Superior Labor Court (TST), was rejected by a narrow margin: 49.31% voted against, 49.25% in favor and 1.44% abstained.
The negotiations only involve pilots and flight attendants from the Azul and Gol companies. At Latam, employees approved, in a vote held at the beginning of December, the collective agreements proposed by the company, which eliminates the risk of strike at that company.
Among the main economic demands of the aeronauts are salary recovery by the INPC (National Consumer Price Index) plus 3%, readjustment of food vouchers by the INPC plus 10%, improvements in private pensions, an increase in international daily rates and double payment for night hours. In social and operational clauses, the category requests, among other points, a minimum rest of 12 hours in a hotel and remuneration for time on the ground.
This Tuesday (23), the TST presented a new proposal, with a salary adjustment by the INPC plus 0.5% and an 8% increase in food vouchers. The text will still be evaluated by the workers.
If the strike is approved at Monday’s assembly, the strike will not be immediate. According to the union, the legislation provides for a minimum period of 72 hours between the decision and the actual start of the strike, which could impact flights and airport operations in the last days of 2025.
