The Blood Center of the State of Acre (Hemoacre) launched a mobilization campaign to reinforce the blood supply, which is currently at a critical level. The alert was published on the institution’s social networks, which asks for the population’s collaboration in donating all blood types.
According to Hemoacre, the end-of-year period usually sees a significant drop in the number of donations, while the demand for blood in hospitals remains constant. The institution highlights that many patients depend on transfusions daily for treatments, surgeries and emergency care.

In the publication, Hemoacre reinforces that, while part of the population prepares for the Christmas festivities, hundreds of people are waiting for a gesture of solidarity that could save lives. The campaign highlights that the need for blood does not go into recess and that donor participation is essential to avoid shortages.
People aged between 16 and 69, who are in good health, weigh more than 50 kilos, are well fed and present official identification with a photo, can donate. Minors under 18 require authorization from their guardians.

Donations can be made at Hemoacre, located at Avenida Getúlio Vargas, nº 2787, in the Bosque neighborhood, in Rio Branco. Service takes place from Monday to Saturday, from 7am to 6pm.
It is important to remember that a single gesture can make a difference and help maintain care for patients who directly depend on donations to continue living.
