Three weeks before the elections, the presidential candidate he highlighted the importance of family dialogue during the festivities and shared personal memories.

The candidate for the Presidency of the Republic defended the need to build “a Portugal for all”, in a Christmas message released in video on social media.

Just a few weeks before the presidential elections, the candidate guaranteed that this festive period It will also be a time to discuss the country’s problems and its collective future.

In the message, Jorge Pinto highlighted the importance of Christmas as a space for meeting, dialogue and reflection.

“Many of us will be at the table with family and friends and we will certainly discuss Portugal, the Portugal we have and the Portugal we want”, he stated, recognizing that these conversations can be intense, but underlining the importance of reconciliation. “A Portugal that knows how to discuss, but that doesn’t forget the essentials”, he added.

The candidate also shared personal memories linked to the Christmas season, remembering the years he lived abroad.

“Christmas for me is a very important date, especially because in the years when I lived abroad it was the only time of the year when I was able to be with all my family and friends”, he said.

Jorge Pinto also evoked a family tradition that began in 2011, which he calls “ham”an informal meeting on the afternoon of December 24th before Christmas dinner.

Despite defining himself as politically progressive, the candidate assumed himself as a “traditionalist” in Christmas celebrations, describing habits that he maintains every year, from home decoration to typical cuisine.

“In my house, the tree and decorations always go up on December 1st and only come out on Twelfth Day”, he said, confessing his preference for cod at Christmas Eve, meat on Christmas Day and traditional “old clothes” on the 26th.

In the final part of the message, Jorge Pinto left a clear political appealaligned with your candidacy.

“This Christmas, let us know how to build a Portugal for everyone, a Portugal that is not just white, but of all colors”, he stated, defending a country based on diversity, plurality and different accents.

“The Portugal of diversity, of plurality, the Portugal of the diverse, in which it is worth living”, concluded the candidate.
