From day one, . Not just replacing milk, but rethinking how food is produced and communicated. In addition to the clean label and few ingredients, the brand was a pioneer in stamping the carbon footprint on its packaging.
“We never tried to be milk. Nude is an oat drink, with very clear consumption occasions. Very few brands calculate and make clear the environmental impact of the product. This was decisive in raising investment”, says the brand’s founder, Giovanna Meneghel, in an interview with the podcast From Zero to Top.

Beginning of Nude
The company started with an angel round from friends and family and then attracted institutional investors. Today, Nude has 17 SKUs, is present in all Brazilian states and exports to countries such as Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Uruguay and Paraguay. The team has around 50 employees.

Despite the growth, Giovanna makes a point of moving away from the logic of “growing at any cost”. According to her, venture capital was important to accelerate the start, but it does not define the way Nude operates. “I’ve always been hesitant about this idea. The company needs to be financially healthy and stand on its own two feet.”
Environmental concern
One of Nude’s most symbolic projects was born precisely out of environmental concern. The company transformed the biomass that was previously discarded in the production of oat drink into a protein cereal considered the first circular food in Brazil.

“When we talk about climate impact, the big challenge is in scope 3, which is the entire production chain”, he explains. “This project reduces emissions from our products by up to 7%.”
The initiative gained international recognition and an award from the UN Global Compact.
