Brazilian air transport could face problems at airports at the beginning of next week, in the final stretch of 2025. The National Union of Aeronauts () announced a state of strike and called an extraordinary general assembly for next Monday morning (29/12), when pilots and flight attendants

The meeting is scheduled for 9:30 am, at the union’s headquarters, in São Paulo. The category claims

The state of strike was made official since pilots and flight attendants rejected, in a vote held until this Monday (22/12), the airlines’ proposal to renew the Collective Labor Convention (CCT), mediated by the Superior Labor Court ().

According to the SNA, 49.31% voted against the employer’s proposal, 49.25% were in favor and 1.44% abstained. The negotiation involves only the companies Azul and Gol. In December, Latam pilots approved the collective agreement proposals presented by the company.

Among the main points required by Azul and Gol aeronauts are:

  • Salary recovery by INPC plus 3%;
  • readjustment of food vouchers by INPC plus R$105;
  • private pension;
  • increase in international daily rates (US$4 for South America, USA and Central America);
  • double payment for night time.

The category also highlights combating fatigue as a priority issue, a topic related to crew health and operational safety.

TST proposal

In counterproposal, the TST presented, this Tuesday, a new suggestion that foresees a salary adjustment by the INPC plus 0.5% and an 8% increase in food vouchers. The proposal will be analyzed at Monday’s assembly.

If the strike is approved, the strike will not be immediate. The union claims that there is a legal deadline of 72 hours for the movement to begin.

The impasse occurs on the eve of the period of greatest demand for air transport, during the end of year festivities, and could affect the flight schedule in the New Year. Until the assembly’s decision, the crew continues working normally.

In a statement, the SNA stated that it recognized them, but said that mobilization is the last resort, given the lack of consensus in the negotiations. The union maintains that the appreciation of aeronauts is essential to maintain the safety and quality standards of Brazilian civil aviation.
