Christmas with a child can be fabulous, but above all, it must be safe. Little hands love to touch everything, and curiosity can lead to accidents. When a child travels alone but is still too young to understand the danger, adults must ensure his or her safety.
A trap for children may be, first of all, the symbol of Christmas, i.e . Before the child grows up, it is better to give up a massive tree, and if we absolutely need it, it should be properly secured. We tell you how to do it.
Of course, in a house with small children there can be a living tree. However, it is worth choosing the least prickly option and properly protecting the Christmas tree against children. It will work best noble fir the Caucasian fir. It is worth placing a special fence around the Christmas tree so that the child has limited access to it.
Smaller Christmas trees may, of course, do less damage. It is also easier to place them, for example, on a table or chest of drawers, so that they are out of children’s reach. Regardless of the height of the tree, you must ensure its stability.
The Christmas tree should be placed in a stand or a pot. As for the flower pots, they should be really heavy so that they don’t tip over. It is worth adding weight to them, for example with stones. When it comes to stands, metal ones will be the best. A trunk with too large a diameter should be slightly reduced, for example using a wood saw. Then you can easily attach it.
It is also a good idea to tie the Christmas tree to something to give it more stability. Using a strong string, we can, for example, attach the tree to a pipe or radiator running behind it. The string will be covered with Christmas decorations.
It’s hard to imagine a Christmas tree without decorations. However, some of the commonly used ones may be dangerous for a small child. First of all, glass baubles will surely arouse your toddler’s curiosity, and they are so delicate that they can be easily broken. An alternative are plastic or Styrofoam baubles.
It is also better to give up all small decorations that a child could reach for and swallow. The lamps hanging on the choice also deserve special attention. The lights will surely attract your baby – especially when they start to flicker. It is better to place a string of lights so that the child cannot reach it.
Let’s also choose items with the CE marking, with wires of appropriate thickness (diameter should be about 0.5 mm). Let’s also make sure, just in case, that there are lights on the Christmas tree that do not get hot and will not burn the child if he catches them. Energy-saving lamps use less electricity and are considered to be more durable.
