SC store sells Havaianas for R$1 in boycott of the brand

Unit in Brusque has zero stock; Luciano Hang announced cancellation of orders for Havan footwear

A store in Brusque (SC) cleared its stock of Havaianas flip flops a few hours after . The movement was supported by businessman Luciano Hang, owner of the Havan chain, who commented on the promotion announcement post: “Congratulations, at Havan we have canceled our January orders”.

The Santa Catarina establishment stated that it will stop reselling the brand’s products for an indefinite period of time in response to what it classified as “provocation to the conservative population”. The controversy began after , starring actress Fernanda Torres, in which she said she wanted Brazilians to start in 2026 “with both feet”instead of just with the right foot.

DIVISION IN SOCIAL MEDIA

On Instagram, the positioning of the Brusque store divided opinions. While supporters praised the courage of “Don’t sit on the fence”other users mocked the effectiveness of the boycott, pointing out that the sale at R$1 only served to further popularize the use of the slipper in the region.

To date, Alpargatas has not commented on Hang’s statements or the cancellation of orders by resellers. The company remains one of the main international references in the Brazilian footwear sector.
