The Acre Civil Police identified the main suspect of murdering the cultural activist and employee of the State Public Ministry, Moisés Ferreira Alencastro, aged 59. The author had preventive detention ordered by the Court and is currently considered a fugitive.

According to the delegate, the police were officially notified on Monday night (22) about the victim’s disappearance and, simultaneously, about the discovery of Moisés’ vehicle abandoned on Estrada do Quixadá. While teams headed to the location where the car was found, another part of the investigation continued to the victim’s apartment, in the Morada do Sol neighborhood, where the body was located with obvious signs of violence.

Investigations indicate that the author entered the apartment consensually, as there was no sign of a break-in. Inside the property, a disagreement allegedly occurred that resulted in the homicide. The delegate highlighted that, after the death, assets were stolen, such as the vehicle, cell phone, bank cards and other personal belongings, which initially led to the suspicion of robbery, a hypothesis that was discarded.

During the investigation, the Civil Police located the victim’s objects at the suspect’s residence, including glasses, controls from the car and apartment, as well as personal documents. Clothing was also seized which, according to reports, had been worn by the perpetrator after the crime and showed traces of blood. This material is being subjected to expert examinations for biological comparison.
