According to the surgeon, the procedure went without any complications.
Surgeon Cláudio Birolini, who conducted surgery on former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to treat a bilateral inguinal hernia, stated that the procedure “went according to plan” and was completed without complications. The statements were made at a press conference this Thursday, 25th, with cardiologist Brasil Caiado.
“The surgical procedure carried out today went according to plan,” he declared. “The president had a hernia that we call mixed type, it was a direct and indirect hernia. It was corrected,” he stated.
According to the surgeon, the procedure occurred without any complications. Bolsonaro is already awake and has already been taken to his room. Birolini said that the president is already speaking normally.
According to doctors, Bolsonaro’s recovery should last five to seven days. In the coming days, care will focus on analgesia, physiotherapy and prophylaxis. During his hospitalization, Birolini said he would consider asking Bolsonaro to repeat an endoscopy.
