Russia says the US is reviving piracy

Moscow expects “pragmatism” and “rationality” from Trump to end the conflict in Venezuela

The spokeswoman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, , stated this Thursday (Dec 25, 2025) that the United States is rekindling the “piracy” and the “banditry” in the Caribbean Sea by blockading Venezuela. Zakharova said she hoped the US president’s wisdom, (Republican), help prevent a disaster.

“Today, we witness complete anarchy in the Caribbean Sea, where the theft of other people’s property, that is, piracy and banditry, long forgotten, are being revived”said the spokeswoman. “We consistently advocate for de-escalation”he completed.

US wants to intensify offensive against Venezuela

The United States to the UN (United Nations) on Tuesday (Dec 23, 2025) that will intensify measures to restrict Venezuela’s access to financial resources. Measures include a naval blockade and the application of economic sanctions to disrupt revenues.

The US administration has already intensified maritime patrols and intercepted at least 2 oil tankers in recent weeks.
