Mrázik is a film classic that generations of Slovaks watch every year during the Christmas holidays. This legendary fairy tale from 1964 combines a magical winter atmosphere, humor, iconic sayings and unforgettable characters such as Nastenka, Ivan and Mrázik. Among them is grandfather Hríbik, who tests human nature, writes the website.
He also appears in front of the puffed-up Ivan and teaches him a lesson in humility. Thus, Grandpa Hríbik appears in the film as a fairy-tale “guardian of the forest”, who unobtrusively guides the characters, punishes pride and rewards goodness, thus playing a key role in changing Ivan’s character. The teenager was chosen mainly for her small stature, thanks to which she was able to appear as a frail old man. Really the make-up artists also did an excellent job and transformed her face beyond recognition. Dubbers took care of the male voice later in the studio. She was a member of several ensembles, including the famous theater “U Nikitské vorot”, where she performed in plays from classic Russian literature to modern works.
