After a judicial back and forth, the government (Republicans) intends to finally start the program in the state of São Paulo in February 2026.
There will initially be one hundred schools in the state, which went through a consultation process with parents and teachers to adopt the model. The idea is that the number will be expanded gradually.
“Quantitatively, it is not something that has much impact on the entire universe of schools, but it is a model that generates a real positive impact for places with security problems. It is the guarantee that the child will study”, says the state secretary of Education, .
He implemented the model as responsible for the area in Paraná, the state where the system is most advanced.
The schools have the pedagogical part under the responsibility of professionals in the field and the disciplinary part is in charge of retired police officers. The modality is a flag of right-wing groups.
In São Paulo, the system was approved by the Legislative Assembly, but an action in the STF delayed its implementation. Release by the Judiciary occurred in September.
