Preparing this delicious dish is not complicated. The first step is to mix chocolate, honey, vegetable butter and gingerbread spice in a small pot.. Mix everything and cook until a smooth mass is created. Set it aside for a while to cool down slightly.
Then sift the potato and wheat flour into a bowl. Add cinnamon, a pinch of salt, baking powder and candied orange peel. We mix it thoroughly. The next step is to separate the yolks from the whites and beat the yolks with sugar. Beat the egg whites separately until stiff. Pour the yolks into the mixture from the pot and combine it with the dry ingredients. Add a few drops of orange essence and mix everything.
Finally, add the gently beaten egg whites and mix carefully with a spatula. Pour the dough into a baking tray lined with baking paper and put it in an oven preheated to 170 degrees Celsius, baking everything for 30-40 minutes.
After baking, leave the cake in the oven, opening the door slightly, to cool it down gradually. Meanwhile, rinse the orange with boiling water and cut into slices. After the gingerbread has cooled down, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and place orange slices on it.
