He added that other Ukrainian representatives, including the chief Ukrainian negotiator Rustem Umerov, joined the telephone conversation with the Americans. He will speak with Witkoff and Kushner separately on Thursday. “We believe that this is the right approach – not to lose a single day or a single opportunity that can bring the result closer,” he said.
According to the head of the Ukrainian state, there are now proposals on the table that can contribute to lasting peace in Ukraine. “Real security, real recovery and real peace are what we all need – Ukraine, the United States, Europe and every partner that helps us. 20-point peace plan
On Tuesday, the Ukrainian president presented the latest version of the 20-point American peace plan for ending the war with Russia. According to him, this proposal no longer requires Ukraine to formally give up its ambition to join NATO, and it counts on strong security guarantees for Kyiv and the Ukrainian army of 800,000 soldiers. However, the representatives of Ukraine and the USA have not yet been able to agree on the issues of Ukrainian territory and the status of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. However, according to Zelensky, such sensitive issues should be discussed with the US at the level of the presidents.
