The doctor stated that Bolsonaro had a larger hernia on his right side. On the left side, it was a hernia at an early stage, but if it wasn’t resolved now, he would develop the same clinical condition. The procedure corrected the hernia on both sides.
According to Birolini, the hernia surgery lasted three hours. The doctor also stated that he is considering asking Bolsonaro to repeat an endoscopy exam during hospitalization, to evaluate esophagitis, gastritis and reflux.
