Atlético-MG began negotiations to try to return midfielder Fred, from Fenerbahçe. The player, who has played for the Turkish club since 2023, agreed to listen to the proposal presented by the team from Minas Gerais, according to information obtained by the Frossard channel.
The possibility of returning to Brazilian football has gained strength in recent days, with Galo showing interest in negotiating for the 2026 season.

Values and conditions for Fred’s return to Atlético-MG
Paulo Bracks, Atlético-MG’s football CSO, approached the player’s staff to present the idea of returning to Brazil. Although there is already an openness to dialogue, conversations are still at an early stage.
In the negotiation with Manchester United, Fenerbahçe invested around 10 million euros, in addition to bonuses that could reach another 5 million. Fred’s contract with the Turkish club runs until the end of 2027.
High salary and length of employment are highlighted as the main obstacles for the business to move forward. Even so, Galo continues to evaluate alternatives to try to facilitate the arrival of the midfielder to the black and white squad.
Fred left Manchester United in 2023, after five seasons in England, to play for Fenerbahçe. Before that, he had an impressive spell with the Brazilian team, including participation in the World Cup in Qatar.

Originally from Minas Gerais, the midfielder began his career in football in Atlético-MG’s youth categories, which could weigh on the possible negotiation.
