In his second Christmas message as head of the PSD/CDS-PP executive, Luís Montenegro expressed the conviction that there will be no early legislation until 2029 and called for, until the end of the legislature, everyone to focus on the country’s interests.
The Prime Minister, Luis Montenegrodefended this Thursday, in his Christmas message, that Portugal is experiencing a turning point in which it has to change the “mentality of let go” for overcoming, pointing out the footballer Cristiano Ronaldo as an example of the spirit of affirmation for excellence.
“We don’t all have to agree, but we have to understand that our individual position is not the most important,” said Luís Montenegro.
“Now that we will have about 3 and a half years without national electionsit’s time for us all to focus on fulfill our responsibility and do everything to guarantee Portugal and every Portuguese person a more prosperous future”, warned the prime minister.
The Prime Minister highlighted the economic results of recent yearsconsidering that they give more reasons to believe that the country is “on the right path”.
“Portugal is today a reference at European and global level. Portuguese incomes are rising and our economy growing consistently above the European average”, he highlighted, once again highlighting Portugal’s recent distinction by the magazine “”.

The alternative, he considered, is for the country to take advantage of the current economic and financial situation and “try to ensure that it will continue to grow more than others in the future.”
“It’s the difference between play to draw or have a winning mentality to always play to win. And I want to tell you that my option and that of the Government is clearly the second”, he stated.
The head of Government warned that “This path lacks political courage and reformist capacity”, saying that only this path will allow greater efficiency and productivity and reach “new levels of income” and “new salary ambitions”.
“We are at a historic moment in which we have to let go of the mentality of let go and we have to acquire and work on the mentality of resilience. The mentality of going further and asserting ourselves through excellence”, he stated.
