After a warm and scanty December, an unexpected turn should come. Meteorologists expect below-average weather to follow. As he writes, the situation is changing and the latest forecasts indicate that at the beginning of January there should be an even more significant cooling. Experts emphasize that especially in the first days of the month we can experience severe frosts.
Snow lovers will be especially pleased. It is already getting colder in Slovakia and it will snow at the end of the year. This will be brought about by frontal waves that descend over Slovakia from the north. “The first snowfall is expected already on Sunday, but it will come more significantly on Monday evening. Further waves of snowfall should also reach our territory in the first days of January. The forecast looks very similar to the one at the end of November, when Slovakia was hit by a snow disaster,” reports iMeteo.
The new forecasts of the European ECMWF numerical model indicated that the whole of January will be below average in temperature in Europe. Central Europe, where Slovakia is located, should belong to the coldest regions. January will be dramatically colder than expected. Daily temperatures could range below zero. On clear days, according to the specialized website, temperatures could drop to -20 °C.
