“I had already warned that they would pay dearly and today they paid.” Trump’s publication does not include information about how the offensive was carried out and what its effects were, and the White House has not, so far, provided additional details.

US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States carried out deadly “numerous attacks” against the jihadist group Islamic State (IS) in northwestern Nigeria.

Trump threatened that US forces will carry out new attacks if the organization continues to kill Christians in that African country.

“I had previously warned these terrorists that if they did not end the massacre of Christians, they would pay dearly, and tonight (Thursday) they paid”, declared Donald Trump on his social network, Truth Social, adding that “the War Department carried out many perfect attacks, as only the United States is capable of doing”.

Trump’s publication does not include information about how the offensive was carried out or what its effects were, and the White House has not, so far, provided additional details.

“Tonight, under my orders as Supreme Commander [das Forças Armadas]the United States launched a powerful and deadly attack against the ISIS Terrorist Scum in northwestern Nigeria, which has been violently attacking and killing innocent Christians in particular, at levels not seen in many years, even centuries!”, wrote the North American President on his social network.

Last month, Trump said he had ordered the Pentagon to begin planning a , following reports of persecution of Christians.

The State Department then announced in recent weeks that it would restrict visas for Nigerians and their families involved in mass killings and violence against Christians in the West African country.

The United States recently designated Nigeria as “country of particular concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act.

And on Thursday night, Trump said: “Our country will not allow radical Islamic terrorism to thrive.”
