Legendary Czech comedy from the 70s How to drown Dr. Mráčka or the End of the Watermen in Bohemia brings an unforgettable story of the Wassermann water family, which tries to survive in the modern world according to old traditions. He spoke for the website actor Jaromír Hanzlík, who played one of the main characters in the film, the administrator of the housing office Jindřich Mráček, and revealed a little about himself.
In the film, he starred with the beautiful actress Libuša Šafránková († 68), who played the role of Jana Vodičková, a waterwoman. The actress was Hanzlík’s platonic love. “Under all sorts of pretexts, I lured her to a meeting, I talked nonsense, just to stop time. Then I accompanied her to her basement flat in Smichov. That basement smelled of garlic, because Libuška probably put it in buns as well,” he recalled.
He was embarrassed by her. “I loved her laugh. During the time when we were filming Dr. Mráček, my heart pounded in my throat every time I met her. I didn’t really have to play anything in that role,” said Hanzlík. But the actor failed to pack Šafránková.
