Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Donald Trump on Monday in Florida

Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with Donald Trump in the USA. They will discuss the ceasefire in Gaza and plans to stabilize the region in the face of political and security challenges.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will travel to the United States on Sunday and will meet with US President Donald Trump in Florida on Monday. An Israeli representative told AFP on Saturday, reports TASR.

  • Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu will travel to meet with Trump.
  • It will be the fifth meeting between the two leaders this year.
  • The cease-fire process between Israel and Hamas is slow.
  • The Trump administration is planning steps to stabilize Gaza.
  • They will discuss Iran, the Gaza Strip and regional issues.

This will be the fifth meeting between Netanyahu and Trump in the United States this year. The Israeli prime minister will visit the US as the Trump administration and truce brokers between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas seek to move into the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire that took effect on October 10.

The White House chief told reporters this month that Netanyahu would likely visit him in Florida over the Christmas holidays. “He would like to see me. We haven’t formally agreed, but he would like to see me,” Trump said before leaving for his Mar-a-Lago mansion in Florida.

They will also discuss Iran

Israeli news portal Ynet reported on Wednesday that Netanyahu and Trump are likely to discuss a number of regional issues, including Iran – the prospect of renewing its nuclear program and missile capabilities, negotiations on an Israeli-Syrian security agreement, a cease-fire with the pro-Iranian Shiite movement Hezbollah in Lebanon and the next stages of a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.

AFP states that progress in the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas is still slow. Both sides accuse each other of violating the fragile truce, and mediators fear that the Jewish state and the Palestinian movement are stalling negotiations.

The Axios portal reported on Friday that the meeting between the Israeli prime minister and the US president is key to progressing to the next steps of the agreement. Citing a White House official, Axios reported that the Trump administration wants to announce as soon as possible the composition of the Palestinian technocratic administration and the international stabilization force that will be deployed in Gaza under the ceasefire agreement. Senior Trump administration officials are said to be “increasingly frustrated as Netanyahu has taken steps to undermine the fragile truce and slow the peace process.”
