Etna causes ash rain in Taormina

Rome – The Etna volcano is once again showing increased activity. Glowing material was ejected from the northeast crater on Friday, some of which fell on the flanks of the cone. Small amounts of volcanic ash were also released. The eruption cloud was carried by the wind in a northeasterly direction. Ash falls were reported in the well-known seaside resort of Taormina.
