Filipe Luís gave the ok for a contract renewal with Flamengo, but there are still points to resolve. This Saturday (27/12), President Luiz Eduardo Baptista, known as Bap, gave a deadline for the negotiations to come to an end: this Sunday (28).
According to journalist Venê Casagrande, this is the club’s ultimatum. If there is no positive response, Rubro-Negro will look for a new coach.
Filipe Luís’ contract with Flamengo only runs until the 31st. According to “Lance!”, Filipe Luis asked for around R$3 million per month, tax-free, an amount that also includes the salaries of his technical committee, made up of Ivan Palanco, Rodrigo Caio, Márcio Torres and Diogo Linhares.
However, according to “ge.globo”, Filipe Luís accepted an offer lower than what he initially asked for. The coach’s positive signal was for a value with a considerable adjustment, but which did not reach a record on the domestic scene. Abel Ferreira has a higher salary, and Tite also earned more during his time at Flamengo.
The open question is the values involving Palanco and Linhares. The coach understands that the assistant’s and trainer’s remuneration should not exceed this amount. The club disagrees.

What options for Flamengo’s command?
According to journalist Gilmar Ferreira, from Extra, the club started talks to sign Portuguese Leonardo Jardim. The 51-year-old technician is chosen to take on the project, and negotiations are ongoing.

However, the name of the former Cruzeiro coach is not the only one speculated in the last 24 hours.
Journalist Rudy Galetti stated that Flamengo has a verbal agreement with Artur Jorge. Currently, the coach leads Al-Rayyan, from Qatar. The Portuguese coach would have made himself available to take over Fla if necessary.
In 2024, the Portuguese coach won the Libertadores da América and the Brasileirão with Botafogo. However, after that, the commander left the club.
In two seasons in Qatar, the 53-year-old coach took charge of 35 matches and achieved 21 victories. Currently, Al-Rayyan is third in the local league.
