A magnitude 7 earthquake struck this Saturday (27) off the coast of Yilan, in the northeast of . Lesser intensity tremors were felt across the country, including in the Taiwanese capital, Taipei.

According to energy supplier Taiwan Power Company, the agency reported Reutersmore than 3,000 homes in Yilan were “briefly” without power.
