The waste segregation system has been supplemented with one more container. His presence is not accidental and results from the need to better organize specific types of waste. • Biodegradable waste – brown container,
• Glass – green container,
• Papier – blue container.

However, in many cities recently it can also be seen another red container. It is an addition to the current waste division and is intended to fulfill an important function. We can find it in more and more locations, especially where many people pass by every day.

The mentioned red containers are something relatively new in Polish cities. We can usually find them in housing estates near shops or pharmacies. Hazardous waste is thrown into these containers.

Often, depending on the markings or a given location, these may be, for example: chemicals and expired medicines or used light bulbs and small electronic equipmenty. These are wastes that must not be thrown into other containers because their improper disposal may pose a threat to health or the environment.

It is worth remembering this and following the waste segregation system, because according to the information provided by Forsal.pl throwing bad items into the red container, e.g. paper or plastic, may result in a penalty. However, placing electronic waste in the wrong container may result in a fine of up to PLN 5,000.
