Rivers in Acre rise almost 5 meters in 24 hours and Civil Defense goes on high alert

During a meeting held this Friday (26), at the Civil House, the Government of Acre presented updated data that raised the maximum alert of the State Civil Defense. In just 24 hours, some rivers in the state registered a rise of close to five meters, reflecting the high volume of rain accumulated in the last 48 hours.

According to the technical data presented during the meeting, in Rio Branco the accumulated rainfall in the last 48 hours was 160 millimeters. At 4:30 pm this Friday, the Acre River reached 11.83 meters, with an elevation of 4.38 meters in 24 hours, an index considered high and which requires constant monitoring.

The municipalities of Brasiléia and Epitaciolândia recorded 237 millimeters of rain in two days, the highest accumulated among the cities monitored. In these locations, the river level reached 7.04 meters, with a rise of 4.42 meters in just 24 hours.

Data presented during a meeting at the Civil House show the volume of rain in the last 48 hours and the rapid rise in river levels in municipalities in Acre, with records of a rise of up to almost five meters in just 24 hours.

In Assis Brasil, the volume of rain reached 94 millimeters, with the river reaching 6.81 meters, registering a rise of 0.75 meters in the period analyzed.

According to Civil Defense, the numbers indicate a scenario of increased attention, especially due to the rapid rise in river levels, which can cause flooding, overflowing streams and the need for preventive evacuation of families in risk areas.

Teams from the Fire Department, Civil Defense and other state bodies remain on standby, working in an integrated manner with municipalities to immediately respond to incidents and support vulnerable populations.

The government informed that monitoring will continue permanently in the coming days, with constant updating of hydrological and climatic data.
