The attacks on Kyiv claimed a victim and 25 were injured, thousands of people were left without heat

Russian attacks on Kiev caused explosions and considerable damage. More than 4,000 buildings were left without heating and electricity.

At least one person was killed and more than 25 people were injured in a large-scale Russian attack on Kyiv and its surroundings on Saturday. According to Ukrainian officials, about a third of the capital remained without heating, reports TASR based on reports from world agencies.

The explosions shook the city for hours. The attack began in the early hours of the morning and continued after dawn. Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko wrote on the Telegram social network that thousands of households were left without heating and electricity. Currently, according to him, there are more than 4,000 residential buildings, 187 kindergartens, 138 schools and 22 social institutions without central heating.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized that the attacks prove that Russia does not want to end the almost four-year-long war. “They don’t want to end the war and are trying to use every opportunity to cause more suffering to Ukraine and increase pressure on others in the world,” he said. The statement came before he left for the United States, where he will meet with President Donald Trump on Sunday for talks on a plan to stop the Russian invasion.

Zelensky also stated that during the attacks, the Russians used approximately 500 drones and 40 missiles, including Kinzhal-type hypersonic missiles, in several areas. The strikes hit energy and civilian infrastructure.
