The main problem remains the territory
Trump and Zelenskyy are scheduled to meet on Sunday in Florida. The bilateral meeting is scheduled for 15:00 local time (21:00 CET). It is not yet clear whether direct talks with Russia are also planned later. According to DPA, Moscow has indicated that the plan, which was revised by the United States, Kyiv and European partners, does not meet the Kremlin’s expectations.
Amid ongoing intense fighting, the main diplomatic issue remains the issue of territory, Reuters wrote. According to Zelensky, the modified draft of the 20-point peace plan within the initiative led by the United States is approximately 90 percent complete. He added that the agreement on security guarantees between Ukraine and the USA is almost completed. “Many things can be decided before the New Year,” Zelenskyy wrote on social networks.
The US president emphasized that the US is the main driver of the peace process. “(Zelenskyj) has nothing until I approve it,” Trump told Politico. “So we’ll see what he comes up with,” he added.
