Red Bull Bragantino confirmed the arrival of Uruguayan midfielder Ignacio “Nacho” Sosa, 22, as a reinforcement for the 2026 season. The player was at Peñarol and is a new bet for the São Paulo club in the South American market.
Sosa is expected in Bragança Paulista to introduce himself to the new club on January 2nd. Massa Bruta debuts in 2026 on January 11th, away from home, against Noroeste, for the Campeonato Paulista.
The bond signed with Bragantino is valid until December 2030. The values involved in the negotiation were not disclosed by either team.
Sosa is the third player from Peñarol to reinforce Bragantino in recent times. Before him, the São Paulo club had already signed striker Nacho Laquintana and defender Guzmán Rodríguez.

Who is Nacho Sosa?
Born in Montevideo, Ignacio Sosa Ospital began his career in the youth teams of Fênix, from Uruguay. He was promoted to the professional roster in 2021.
In 2023, the midfielder transferred to Peñarol, where he gained greater prominence. In total, he played 76 matches for the club, 45 of them last season.
In addition to his performance at clubs, Sosa also accumulated experience with the Uruguayan youth team. In 2023, he was champion of the U20 World Cup and, in the same year, participated in the category’s South American Championship.
