According to an official statement, while the flood lasts, the unit will exclusively serve people in shelters and those living on the streets, guaranteeing food for the most vulnerable populations affected by the advance of the waters.

The decision was taken as a way to reorganize the services of the social assistance network in the face of the emergency scenario, prioritizing homeless families and citizens who directly depend on public support in this critical period.

The statement is signed by Municipal Secretariat of Social Assistance and Human Rights and reinforces that new information will be released as the flood evolves and the situation in the city normalizes.
