Magnitude 5.8 earthquake hits Peru’s northern coast

One 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck near the north coast of Peru this Saturday (27), reported the German Geosciences Research Center (GFZ).

The incident occurred at a depth of 10 km, reported the GFZ.

The Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy announced on its X, formerly Twitter, that the possibility of a tsunami on the Peruvian coast has been ruled out.
