Mozambique achieves its first victory in the history of the African Cup

The Mozambique team beat Gabon 3-2 and made history this Sunday (28), by achieving their first victory in history, after 17 games in the main phase of the African Cup of Nations (CAN).

Faisal Bangal, Geny Catamo and Diogo Calila scored the goals in the historic triumph.

Bangal, in the 37th minute, opened the scoring for Mozambique, after a pass from Geny Catamo. Five minutes later, Catamo scored the second for the Mozambicans, in the 42nd minute, from the penalty spot, before reducing Gabon’s deficit in stoppage time.

In the final stage, Diogo Calila was the scorer of 3-1 for Mozambique, in the 7th minute. Gabon still reduced with Moucketou-Moussounda, in the 31st minute.

The second round of group F closes with Ivory Coast x Cameroon, a duel that pits two teams that won in the opening round.
