Players Jose Alvarado, from the New Orleans Pelicans, and Mark Williams, from the Phoenix Suns, exchanged punches on Saturday night (27), during the third quarter of the NBA game, at the Smoothie King Center, in New Orleans.
Alvarado, who is 1.83m tall, was the one who first pulled Williams’ shirt, who is 2.16m tall. Pelicans point guard Alvarado was irritated by the marking of Suns center Williams.
They exchanged punches and slaps and were restrained by players from both teams. The confusion lasted a few seconds, and the match was stopped.
Both were expelled. After what happened, Jose Alvarado ran to the locker room. There were no further records of fights between the two.
The Phoenix Suns won the game against the Pelicans 123-114.
