PHOTO Petr z Arabela left behind little twins: Oh, how Vladimír Dlouhé’s sons look today!

Unforgettable Vladimír Dlouhý became mainly thanks to the cult TV series Arabela, in which he portrayed the character of Peter Majer. However, the Czech actor’s life ended too soon. He died after a serious illness on June 20, 2010 in his native Prague at the age of 52. He left behind 5 children, two of which he kept perfectly secret.

But the youngest – twins Jan and Jiří – did not enjoy their father very much. He left forever when they were not even four years old, writes the website. “We only got to know him later through his stories, photos, videos and of course his acting work,” the boys got engaged a few years ago.

“I hear quite often that I am all him, not only in appearance, but also in voice. People compare me to him,” he added Jan. So far, the brothers have followed in their father’s footsteps and have played several roles in films and series. This year, they celebrated their 19th birthday on September 29. You can see how the boys grew up and whether they resemble their father in the PHOTO gallery!

Vladimír Dlouhý was born on June 10, 1958 in Prague in the family of a civil engineer. After studying at the conservatory in Prague, he performed in several Prague theaters, in addition to the Theater in Vinohrady, also in the Na Zabradlí Theater and the Rokoko Theater. He also performed as a guest on the stage of the Prague National Theatre, EF Buriana Theatre, Kalich Theatre, Lyra Pragensis and Blaník Palace.

In the 80s of the 20th century, Dlouhý performed a series of impressive acting creations, for example in the films Robinsonka, Hop – and there’s an ape, The Last Train, Love from the passage or With devils are not jokes. Dlouhy’s rich filmography is also complemented by the films Knoflíkári, Baječná leta pod psa, Jedna ruka ne clapská.

The actor also appeared together with the Slovak actress Ingrid Timková in the TV movie Swingtime, which the film critics called an exceptional piece of filmmaking. Fear and darkness literally emanated from the exciting plot, which revealed to the audience the diabolical idea of the State Security (ŠtB) to create false state borders inside the republic and depicted the fictitious story of people who crossed them.

The actor also excelled in other films such as Watchman No. 47 or My Husband’s Women. In 2010, director Jiří Svoboda cast him in the crime film Domino, where he played together with his brother Michal Dlouhy. The last time he appeared in front of the film camera was in the crime thriller Kajínek (2010), which was released in cinemas only after his death.

Vladimír Dlouhý was awarded the Czech Lion award twice. In 2008, he won it for a supporting role in the movie Hlídač no. 47, received the second Czech Lion posthumously in 2011 for his performance in the film Kajínek.
